The Royal Pinay Nanny From Philippine Star |
"Miss Lillie", as the late Princess Di fondly calls her, is hailed from Bacolod and worked for eight years as Prince Harry's (William's brother) nanny. She must have been a good fairy-nanny. The prince, in his teenage years, told Miss Lillie when she left, “When I get married, I will take you back.” Sweet!
The most inspiring truth about this story is that the "nation of slaves" (as our country was once degradingly called) bore a loyal and caring nanny whom a world icon invites to his most important life-changing event. I don't think the prince would even care to remember her if she isn't an important figure to their royal household.
I think she will represent the whole Filipino nation in the royal wedding. That makes us sort of went to the ball also, and of course, makes us all proud!
